- beat around/ about the bush (BrE: about; NAmE: around):
nói lòng vòng, quanh co.
Ex: Stop beating about the bush and tell me what you want.
- make sense: rõ ràng (về nghĩa), có lý, khả thi.
Ex: This sentence doesn't make sense (to have a meaning that you can easily understand)
It makes sense to buy the most up-to-date version (to be a sensible thing to do)
John wasn't making much sense on the phone (to be easy to understand or explain)
- cut corners (disapproving): to do something in the easiest, cheapest or quickest way, often by ignoring rules or leaving something out.
Ex: To be competitive, they paid low wages and cut corners on health and safety.
