Dear Helen
Greetings from New Zealand! Sorry I haven't written recently, but I haven't had (1).much.. time.
We've done (2)..a lot of. travelling during our stay. We're visited the South Island twice, and also (3).some of.. the (4).X.. many islands that make up country. (5)all of... the west of the South Island is mountainous, but the east is quite flat and full of sheep! I'd never seen that (6).X.. in one place before. The weather was good when we went and we had very (7)little.. rain.
Before I came here, I didn't know that New Zealand had (8).many.. ski slopes. But (9)..a few. people here seem to spend most of their winter skiing.
(10).None.. us had skied before, so we were pretty awful. Susan learned quickly though, and after (11).many.. falls she became quite confident.
(12).All of.. the children send their love. They've grown a lot and I suppose they'll look (13).much.. different to you when you see them again. (14)..Both. Susan and Tim really like it here. They've made (15).many.. very good friends, and (16)..both of. them are planning to come over to England soon.
You asked about the animals here. No, we haven't seen (17).any.. snakes - there are (18).many. in New Zealand! In fact, (19). few of.. the animals in New Zealand were originally from here. (20)..Many. were introduced from overseas - (21).some of.. them, like rabbits, from Europe... And yes, we really did see (22)..some. whales
So you heard about the volcano! There are three main volcanoes on the North Island, and (23)all of... them is still active. But I think we're quite safe here in Wellington.
(24).Many of.. the people I work with are Maori. Almost (25).all of.. them live on the North Island, with very (26)..few., apparently, on the South Island.
(27)..All of. the Maori we're met have spoken English, although I've been told that just (28).all.. speak only the Maori language.
If you see (29).any.. our friends in England, tell them we'll see them (30)..little. soon. Chúng em đã đi rất nhiều trong suốt thời gian ở đây. Chúng em đã đến thăm SI 2 lần, và một số trong rất nhiều những hòn đảo làm nên đất nước này. Toàn bộ phía Tây của đảo SI là vùng núi, nhưng phía đông thì khá bằng phẳng và toàn là cừu!! Em chưa bao h thấy điều này ở nơi nào khác. Thời tiết khác là đẹp khi chúng em đến, và có ít mưa.
Trước khi đến đây. em ko nghĩ rằng NZ lại có nhiều suòn núi trượt tuyết đến thế. Nhưng hình như ít người ở đây muốn dành cả mùa đông của họ để trượt tuyết thì phải :-?
Chưa ai trong cả bọn đc trượt tuyết trước đây, vì thế chúng em khá tệ. S học nhanh nhất, và sau kha khá lần ngã, chị ấy đã tự tin hơn rất nhiều.
Bọn trẻ gửi cho chị ty của chúng. Chúng lớn rất nhanh và em nghĩ rằng chị sẽ thấy chúng rất khác khi chị gặp lại chúng đấy. Cả S và T đều rất thik nơi đây. Chúng có rất nhiều bạn tốt, và cả 2 đứa đều đang dự định sẽ trở về London sớm.
Chị hỏi về động vật ở đây đúng ko. Ko, em chưa bao h thấy con rắn nào cả, có rất nhiều ở NZ!! Thực ra, chỉ một ít động vật cả NZ có nguồn gốc ở đây thôi. Nhiều loài đc giới thiệu là từ hải ngoại, một số trong đó, như thỏ, là từ châu âu.....và đúng thế, chúng em đã thực sự nhìn thấy bọn cá voi!
Và chị đã nghe về núi lửa! Có 3 ngọn núi chính ở phía đảo bắc (NI), và tất cả đều vẫn đang hoạt động. Nhưng em nghĩ chúng em vẫn rất an toàn ở W
Nhiều ng` chúng em gặp là ng` Maori. Hầu hết tất cả bọn họ đều sống ở NI, vs một số ít, rõ ràng ở SI
.
Tất cả những ng` M mà chúng em đã từng gặp đều nói tiếng anh, mặc dù em đã đc dặn trc là họ chỉ nói tiếng M thôi
Nếu chị gặp bất cứ ng` bạn nào ở E, nói vs họ rằng chúng em sẽ găp lại họ sớm thôi. Mặc dù tất cả bọn họ nói rằng sẽ cố gắng đến thăm chúng em, chỉ 1 số ng` làm đc.Chỉ có B, J và P là đến, chúng em rất buồn khi phải bỏ lại những ng` bạn mà chúng em đã có ở đây.
Mọi thứ thậm chí đang trở nên bận rộn hơn khi chúng em chuẩn bị đồ trở về nhà, và sẽ ko có cơ hội nào để viết trong 2 tuần tới. Vì thế có lẽ đây sẽ là lá thư cuối cùng chị nhận đc trc khi chúng em gặp lại chị.
