Infinitives and Gerunds (V-ing)​

1. Từ, cụm từ kết hợp với gerunds:
- blame sb for: đổ lỗi cho ai
Ex: He blamed me for stealing the money.
- be responsible for / be in charge of: chịu trách nhiệm với việc gì
Ex: She was responsible for writing the report.
- in addition to: thêm vào
Ex: In addition to being on vacation, I have a good time.
- stop / prevent sb from: ngăn không cho ai làm gì
Ex: I stopped the theif from stealing the jewels.
- object to: phản đối làm gì
Ex: I objected to writing the term paper.

2. Từ, cụm từ kết hợp với infinitives:
- be glad to: vui mừng khi làm gì
Ex: He is glad to receive the bonus.
- be relieved to: nhẹ nhõm khi làm gì
Ex: She was relieved to finish the report.
- be lucky to: cảm thấy may mắn khi làm gì
Ex: I will be very lucky to have a good time on vacation.
- prepare: chuẩn bị để làm gì
Ex: The theif had been prepared to steal the jewels.
- be anxious to: cảm thấy lo lắng khi làm gì
Ex: They were anxious to write their term paper.

1. Từ, cụm từ kết hợp với gerunds:
- purpose of: dự định làm gì
Ex: He stole the bike with the purpose of selling for money.
- be accused of: bị kết tội
Ex: She was accused of leaking information.
- be used to: quen với việc gì
Ex: I am used to waking up early.
- look forward to: mong chờ
Ex: I look forward to meeting my parents.
- have fun / have a good time: cảm thấy vui vẻ khi làm gì
Ex: I have fun writing the letter.

2. Từ, cụm từ kết hợp với infinitives:
- be content to: bằng lòng khi làm gì
Ex: He is content to apply for the job.
- be willing to: sẵn lòng làm gì
Ex: She was willing to help old people.
- be motivated to: được thúc đẩy để làm gì
Ex: I have been motivated to do the housework.
- be careful to: cẩn thận khi làm gì
Ex: The theif had been very careful to break into the bank.
- be hesitant to: ngập ngừng khi làm gì
Ex: They were hesitant to speak in front of the whole class.
