Calm down: bình tĩnh.
Cheer up: vui lên.
Find out: tìm ra, khám phá ra.
Hang out: đi chơi.

Hold on: chờ 1 khoảng tg ngắn.
Let down: thất vọng.

Yesterday, an Australian friend suggested a tour into "the bush". I agreed at once. The first thing I noticed when we were in the bush were the flies. After a while, I remembered the talk I had had in London before I came here. "What's the Australian salute?" I asked suddenly, as I waved my right arm to keep the flies away. "That's it!" my friend said as he waved back!

Ex2: Writing using the past simple of the verbs

1. I/ go swimming/ yesterday.
=> I went swimming yesterday

2. Mrs. Huong/ wash/ the dishes.

UNIT 2: CLOTHING
The Present Perfect - The Passive

A. Lí thuyết

I. The Present Perfect

- Diễn tả 1 sự việc hay hành động bắt đầu trong quá khứ, kéo dài liên tục cho đến hiện tại và còn có thể tiếp tục trong tương lai.

Example:

· We have learned English for 7 years.

· He has had his car since he was 21.

- Diễn tả 1 hành động hay 1 sự việc xảy ra và chấm dứt trong quá khứ nhưng không xác định rõ thời gian.

Example:

· She has come here once in her life.

· I have had two crashes in my career as a taxi driver.

- Diễn tả 1 hành động hay 1 sự việc xảy ra trong quá khứ mà kết quả vẫn còn lưu lại trong hiện tại.

Example:

· She has broken her leg, so she can’t play tennis.

· I can’t do my homework because I have lost my pen.

- Diễn tả 1 hành động vừa mới xảy ra, trạng từ just thường được dùng với cách này. Tuy nhiên người Mỹ vẫn dùng thì QKĐ để diễn tả hành động này.

Example:

· I (have) just received a letter from my cousin.

· She (has) just told me this story.

II. The Passive

A: S + V + O

P: O + tobe + P.P + (by + S)
