"l'm travelling to your country during Tet holiday. Could you give me some information about it? What do people often do? What do children receive? Can you tell me some dishes for Tet"
Dear Hann,
Thanks for your letter. I am writing to give you some information about Tet in Viet Nam. Tet is a special occasion for the Vietnamese, so we have some practices on that day. First of all, the children will dress in new clothes in different colors. People usually buy peach trees, kumquat trees and red papers to decorate houses and the entrances. According to tradition, people sweep their houses in order to chase away the unluckiness. Besides, they often visit pagodas to pray for health, luck and prosperity. However, the thing children expect to most is receiving lucky moneys and regards from adults. There are some common dishes at Tet, such as: Chung Cake, red sticky rice, boiled chicken,....Perhap the most warmest moment is when you together with your family make Chung Cake in the hustle atmosphere of Tet. I hope you will have a good time in Vietnam. Please write to me about your experience.
Look forward to hearing from you
Best wishes,
Mathew
