Hiện trạng
There is no fixed rule for the time the traffic jams to happen but it is worst during the rush hour when everyone is in a hurry to get to work or come back home. Apart from peak hours, the time between 9 am to 10 am and between 3 pm to 4 pm also witnesses long lines of vehicles, mainly motorbikes, struggling to get out of narrow streets. Whenever it rains, the traffic jam gets more terrible with the joining hand of flooding. Taxis are extremely hard to catch or wave during the downpour. However, it only takes about 30 minutes on average for a standstill and 2 hours to get through the worst, not really bad compared to that of other countries.
Hậu quả
The traffic jam in cities is one of the terrible things the city dwellers have to face. People get stuck on the roads and they have no idea when they would be able to reach their destination. Because of this jam, people often miss important schedules, students can’t reach school in time and the outcome is devastating. Because of the jam in the street people have to schedule accordingly and the total time killed in the street is simply a waste of time.
Giải pháp
To solve this problem, some great ideas have been given out. One of the most likely to be chose
is to encourage people to travel by public transportations. The government should promote the uses of trains and buses, and also try to give discounts or benefits for those who travel by public vehicles. People whose work place are near should be recommended to walk.
Another method is to
impose tax on vehicles, or charge extra fees for cars and other heavy transports. This will discourage people from driving in a not- fully- loaded car. Also, this tax could be used to make new roads or lanes, supposedly highways.
Finally,
rearranging work hour and school time is believed to be useful enough to untie knots of jams in front of schools, office buildings and residential areas. Though this plan might seem unbelievable, gorvernments should try doing so. To the concerns of parents who take their child to school, it is suggested that schools should have private buses which go through the city at school time, while at work time, only parents are the one moving.
