The graphic depicts the proportions of three types of nutrients included in ordinary meals, all of which might be harmful if taken in excess. These three food nutrients are sodium, "saturated fats," and "added sugar," and the data is based on what Americans consume for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
The first graph depicts the average salt consumption of Americans as a proportion of total calories. The greatest sodium ratio (43 percent) is found at dinner and 29 percent is taken during lunch. The amount of salt is about 14 per cent and is included in breakfast and snacks. The second diagram shows the saturated fat levels in food. When you eat supper, Americans average 37% of saturated fat, the most among all sorts of food. Lunch corresponds to 26% saturated fat consumption, followed by snacks of 21% and breakfast of 16%. The last pie chart shows how much sugar is added to food. The greatest percentage of snacks was 42%. A normal supper has 23 percent sugar, whereas 19 percent and 16 percent are included in lunch and breakfast. It should be noticed that Americans take fewer of these three nutrients throughout the morning.
In general, Americans' dinners and lunches are heavy on salt and saturated fat, while their snacks are high in sugar. The data is based on what Americans consume for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. If taken in excess, sodium, saturated fats, and added sugar can be harmful.
