* ĐỊNH NGHĨA: là một dạng một câu hỏi ngắn đằng sau một câu trần thuật. Câu trả lời dạng YES/NO nhưng mang sắc thái ý nghĩa khác nhau.


+Nếu người hỏi xuống giọng ở cuối câu hỏi thì thực sự họ không muốn hỏi mà là đang trông chờ người ta đồng ý với điều mình nói.

+Khi lên giọng ở cuối câu hỏi thì mới là một câu hỏi thật sự và bạn muốn nhận được câu trả lời.

*CÔNG THỨC

1. Động từ thường



CÔNG THỨC

S + V , don’t/doesn’t/didn’t/haven’t/won’t + S?

S + don’t/ doesn’t/didn’t/haven’t/won’t + V , do/does/did/have/will + S ?

Ví dụ:

2.Động từ khiếm khuyết



S + modal verb+V, modal verb + not + S?

S + modal verb + not+V, modal verb + S?


Ví dụ: 1.He can speak English, can’t he?

2.Lan will go to Can Tho next week, won’t she?

3.He can’t speak English, can he?

4.Lan won’t go to Can Tho next week, will she?

Lưu ý: “Must” có nhiều cách dùng

Ví dụ: 1.They must study hard, needn’t they?
2.You mustn’t come late, must you ?

3.He must be a very intelligent student, isn’t he?

4.You must have stolen my bike, haven’t you?


3. Câu giới thiệu dùng “I am”, câu hỏi đuôi là “aren’t I” ,nhưng nếu là “I am not” thì câu hỏi đuôi là “am I”

Ví dụ: I am a teacher, aren’t I?



4. Câu giới thiệu dùng Let’s /Let

+ Câu hỏi đuôi là “shall we” nếu câu giới thiệu (let’s) là lời mời,lời rủ

Ví dụ: Let’s go for a picnic, shall we?

+ Câu hỏi đuôi là “will you “ nếu câu giới thiệu ( let) là lời xin phép

Ví dụ: Let us use the telephone, will you?

+ Câu hỏi đuôi “may I” nếu câu giới thiệu (let ) là lời đề nghị

Ví dụ: Let me help you do it, may I ?


5.Chủ ngữ là những đại từ bất định

+Câu hỏi đuôi là “they “ nếu chủ ngữ là “Everyone, someone, anyone, no one, nobody”

Ví dụ: 1.Somebody wanted a drink, didn’t they?

2.Nobody phoned, did they?

+Câu hỏi đuôi là “ it” nếu chủ ngữ là “nothing”

Ví dụ: Nothing can happen, can it?



6.Trong câu có các trạng từ phủ định và bán phủ định “never, seldom, hardly, scarely, little “ thì câu đó được xem như là câu phủ định , phần hỏi đuôi sẽ ở dạng khẳng định

Ví dụ: He seldom drinks wine, does he? (Anh ta ít khi uống rượu đúng không)


7. Câu giới thiệu “ It seems that + mệnh đề”,câu hỏi đuôi phụ thuộc vào mệnh đề

Ví dụ: It seems that you are right, aren’t you ?

8. Chủ ngữ là mệnh đề danh từ, dùng “it” trong câu hỏi đuôi

Ví dụ: 1.What you have said is wrong, isn’t it ?
2.Why he killed himself seems a secret, doesn’t it ?

9. Câu mệnh lệnh ,câu hỏi đuôi dùng “ will you”

Ví dụ: 1.Open the door, will you?

2.Don’t be late, will you?

10. Câu mong ước “ wish”,câu hỏi đuôi dùng “may”

Ví dụ: I wish to study English, may I ?

11.Chủ ngữ là “one “ , câu hỏi đuôi dùng dùng “you “ hoặc “one”

Ví dụ: One can be one’s master, can’t you/one?


12.Câu cảm thán ,câu hỏi đuôi dùng “ is, am, are”

Ví dụ: 1.What a beautiful dress, isn’t it?
2.How intelligent you are, aren’t you?

13.Câu giới thiệu “I+ think, believe, suppose, figure, assume, fancy, imagine, reckon, expect, seem, feel + mệnh đề phụ”, câu hỏi đuôi phụ thuộc vào mệnh đề phụ.

Ví dụ: 1.I think he will come here, won’t he?
2.I don’t believe Mary can do it, can she?


14. Câu giới thiệu “S+used to +V “,câu hỏi đuôi dùng “did”

Ví dụ: She used to live here, didn’t she?


15. Câu giới thiệu “S+had better+V” ,câu hỏi đuôi dùng “had”
Ví dụ: He’d better stay, hadn’t he?


16.Câu giới thiệu “S+would rather “,câu hỏi đuôi dùng “would “

6.Trong câu có các trạng từ phủ định và bán phủ định “never, seldom, hardly, scarely, little “ thì câu đó được xem như là câu phủ định , phần hỏi đuôi sẽ ở dạng khẳng định
