From 1 to 9, there are 9 digits taking 9 slots.
From 10 to 99, there are 2.90 = 180 digits taking 180 slots
From 100 to 999, there are 3.900 = 2700 digits taking 2700 slots.
2007 < 2008 < 2700 => The 2007th and 2008th digit are in three-digit number(s).
The three-digit number has the 2007th slot (digit) is: (2007-189):3 + 99 = 705
(2007-189=1818) is divisible by three so the 2007th slot is 5
The number has the 2008th slot is 706 (It's next to the number has the 2007th slot)
So the 2008th slot 7
=> the product of the digit in the 2007th slot and the digit in the 2008 slot is 5*7 =35
