tớ làm bài trong sách, đáp án ghi là như thế nhưng mà chẳng hiểu tại sao nó lại thế????

Câu 1: chị nghĩ đáp án của em sai rồi. Đáp án đúng theo chị là vetted.
Các từ mang nghĩa như sau:
- investigate là điều tra, nghiên cứu.
- search là tìm kiếm ai đó, cái gì.
- scrutinise là soi mói, săm soi
- Vet có nghĩa là xem xét (trình độ, lí lịch...) xem có phù hợp với yêu cầu ko.

Câu 2. go bald: bị hói. Câu này thì dễ hiểu mà (kết hợp từ go + bald nhé)

Câu 3: Let alone có nghĩa là huống chi là.
Ví dụ: I can't remember the title of the book we were supposed to read, let alone the details of the story.

Câu 4. striking là tính từ, có nghĩa là nổi bật, đáng chú ý.
striking resemblance là kết hợp từ người ta gọi là collocation. Cái này lí giải sao mà từ này lại đi với từ này mà không đi với từ khác. Có những kết hợp từ giữa tính từ với danh từ, tính từ với trạng từ....
Em có thể mua quyển từ điển collocation về xem thêm.

Câu 1 em cũng làm là B nhưng mà xem lại đáp án là C.Em thấy là.nhưng giờ biết là có lẽ đáp án sai.:d
Câu 2, câu 3 thì hok biết thành ngữ..

nhưng mà có nhiều chổ em vẫn chưa hiểu tại sao lại chọn đáp án đó.
câu 1 : tại sao chọn advertise mà hok phải là announce (mình mất caí j thì thông báo chứ sao là quảng cáo)???
câu 2:blame for là khiển trách mà và thường đi với người chứ???và dịch câu 2 như thế nào cho hợp lí?
câu 3: sao là warmest mà hok phải là deepest?
câu 4: tại sao chọn when?
câu 6: cả rivalry và contention đều có nghĩa là ghanh đua mà tại sao lại chọn rivalry??? và câu này dịch thế nào cho hợp lí?
câu 7: tại sao lại chọn found mà hok phải là stated?

1. advertise có nhiều nghĩa, chứ ko phải chỉ là quảng cáo, nó còn có nghĩa thông báo cho (mọi người) biết. check lại từ điển Oxford nhé.
announce có nghĩa là thông bào 1 tin tức, tuyên bố, công bố

2. Blamed for không phải chỉ dùng cho người, mà dùng rất rộng rãi.
Somebody is accused of ......... chứ ko phải something is accused of.......

3. warmest congratulation check từ điển collocation.

4. Câu 4 hình như đáp án sai rồi.

5. Chúng ta thấy ".........in him" vậy chỉ có rekindle là đáp án phù hợp.
Còn remind somebody of something.

6. Theo chị biết thì rivalry có nghĩa là cạnh tranh mang nghĩa tích cực (tốt) (in a good competition environment), còn contention là thù nghịch, bất hòa, cãi nhau (disagreement) nghĩa tiêu cực.

7. Cấu trúc "be found guilty/ not guilty of...."
