Definition: Destruction earth's land surfaces, directly / indirectly as result man's activities, misuse land resources.
Causes:
- Waste not disposed of properly.
- Humans throw chemicals unto the soil in form pesticides, insecticides and fertilizers during agricultural practices.
- Exploitation minerals.
Effects:
- Cause problems in human health.
- Cause various kinds of cancers.
- Dumpsites and landfills come with serious problems like a bad smell and outdoor in the town.

Land pollution, or soil pollution, happens when human activities or misusing land resources destroy the Earth's surface.
There are many different ways of permanently changing the land, from soil contamination to general urbanization and cause land pollution. Firstly, humans produce vast quantities of untreated waste—in factories and offices, in our homes and schools, and in such unlikely places as hospitals. Secondly, using harmful chemicals in form pesticides, insecticides and fertilizers during agricultural practices can also cause soil pollution. Moreover, Exploitation minerals can occur at local, regional, and global scales through direct and indirect mining practices.
The impact of land pollution is not limited just to the earth and animals. Humans can also experience negative consequences that can influence quality of life and health. Some of the potential consequences include birth defects, the development of breathing disorders, skin diseases, and even cancer. It can cause various kinds of cancers.
There are several possible solutions to land pollution, including 3 'R's': Reduce waste, Re-use things and Recycle things. The three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy.
