In a road-test laboratory, a car ò mass 800 kg was propelled into a rigid concrete wall to test the car's front-end crumple-zone. This zone was designed to reduce decleration during collisions, and to absorb 0.12 MJ ò energy before distortionof the passengers cabin occured. A video record of the impact showed that the car , travelling at 8.0m/s ,was brought to rest in 0.30s .
Caculate
a/ the mean deceleration of the car , expressed in terms of g(the acceleration of free fall);
b/ the mean impact force experienced by the car;
c/ the maxinum impact speed for which the crumpls-zone would give complete passenger-cabin protection.
