- Nếu MĐ chính trong câu với If là khẳng định, MĐ với If là khẳng định -> Chuyển sang Unless: MĐ chính chuyển thành phủ định, MĐ với Unless giữ nguyên
eg: If he performs well, he will be able to get the job. => Unless he performs well, he won't be able to get the job.

- Nếu MĐ chính trong câu với If là khẳng định, MĐ với If là phủ định -> Chuyển sang Unless: MĐ chính giữ nguyên, MĐ với Unless chuyển thành khẳng định
eg: If he doesn't hurry, he will miss the train. => Unless he hurries, he will miss the train.

- Nếu MĐ chính trong câu với If là phủ định, MĐ với If là phủ định -> Chuyển sang Unless: MĐ chính giữ nguyên, MĐ với Unless chuyển sang khẳng định
eg: If the weather isn't good, we won't go out. => Unless the weather is good, we won't go out.
