$x^4-1=0$
\Rightarrow $x^4=1$
\Rightarrow x=1 hoặc x=-1

Well, but you should remember $x^2-1=0 \Longrightarrow x=1\ or\ x=-1$
You can analyse $x^2-1=(x-1)(x+1)=0$, it has two solution too: x=1;x=-1
You should analyse, avoid confusion or your teacher is uneasy!
