1. Lighting là danh động từ nhưng là để chỉ sự thắp lửa. Trong khi đó fire là một loại lửa.
2. Every đi cùng danh từ số nhiều.

4. Cả cụm từ "The 1st ... lamps" là một chủ ngữ, còn it cũng là một chủ ngữ -> thừa chủ ngữ.
5. Mammals và dolphines đều là danh từ. Trong trường hợp này 1 từ là thừa vì mammals không bổ nghĩa cho dolphines.
6. Metallic là tính từ nhưng để chỉ" giống kim loại", còn metal là danh từ và dùng để bổ nghĩa.
7. Cultivate chỉ dùng cho cây lương thực.
8. Understand là động từ. Ta cần một danh từ là understanding vì thiếu tân ngữ.
