He went downstairs to the caretaker’s flat and explained which had happened
The caretaker is sympathetic. “I’m sorry. I have no spare key to your flat.” He said. “I used to
have one, but someone borrowed it once and never returned it for me. But never mind, I have
a friend who understand these things. I’ll phone him and he’ll come. He is a specialist in opening
locked doors without keys. I’m sure he’ll be able to help you.” He did, either. Later, I found out that he was a fame house breaker.
