October 31st is Halloween. Children wear costumes. In the evening, they knock on doors and people give them candy.

At Halloween, some people buy a pumpkin. They cut holes in the pumpkin, to make eyes, a nose, and a mouth. They put a candle in the pumpkin, to make a lantern - a lantern and a scary face!

Stores sell Halloween toys, like skeletons and spiders. People aren't really scared at Halloween. It's fun!

The day after Halloween is a Christian festival called All Saints Day. This is a very big festival in Mexico. People think about their families, and visit the cemetery. It's not a sad festival. People have fun. Children have candy and they play with their brothers and sisters

The Mid-Autumn Festival

On Friday evening, the 15 of lunar August, we had a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration with all friends at shool.We had amazing activites and competitions such as Mid-Autum Miss, Cutest Singers, Gift Giving, Funny Quizes, Moon Cake Refreshment and many others. Especially, we took donations for victims in Japan's earthquake. The festival lasted 6 hours.

Of all activities, Cutest Singers is the most interesting and unforgettable competition in the festival. Each class in school had two members, one boy and one girl, taking part in the contest. One special thing is that both the boy and girl need to be cute and good at singing. They were all on stage to sing, dance and show their talent. But the most funny moment is when they play blind man's buff which the boy had to find the exact girl in his class without seeing her. Finally, the Cutest Singers winners belonged to the boy and girl of class 8A. The Principal awarded the first prize to them.

I think the festival was more than wonderful and it is the occasion for me and all of my friends in school to unite and understand one another more thoroughly.
