6. The porter said to me, "I'll wake you up when the train arrives in Leeds."(using Reported speech)
=> The porter told me that he would wake up when the train arrived in Leeds.

Em có vài ý kiến thế này:

1. The last person that leaves the house must lock the door. (Reducing the relative clause)
=> The last person who leaves the house must lock the door.

Anh để ý kĩ đề là yêu cầu rút gọn mệnh đề quan hệ nhe. Ta dùng to inf để rút gọn MĐQH khi trước đó có the first, the second, the last, the only, the best, ... Tương tự với câu này, ta chuyển thành:

• The last person to leave the house must lock the door.

=> I I can’t remember the name of the garage which we had repaired the car.

Garage là tên của địa điểm mà họ sửa xe nên đại từ quan hệ phải là where, hoặc là at which.

• ... the garage where/ at which we had the car repaired.

3. I’m sure that you are exhausted because you've been driving all day. (using “must”)
=> You ______________________________________________________________________________

You must be exhausted because ... (must + Vbare : chỉ suy đoán ở hiện tại)

Theo em thì dựa vào " I’m sure that you are exhausted .." có thể thấy việc bạn mệt là suy đoán của tôi ở hiện tại, vì vậy dùng cấu trúc must + Vbare ạ @@ Còn must have PP là suy đoán việc xảy ra ở quá khứ, ghép vào tình huống này em nghĩ không phù hợp lắm ạ.

Yes. Mình lại nghĩ cũng giống bạn vế cuối. Bản chất của Must + have + PP là dựa vào những việc xảy ra ở quá khứ để sử dụng cấu trúc này. Trong câu nói : bởi vì anh ấy đã đang đi xe cả ngày rồi nên chắc chắn anh ấy mệt => sử dụng must have PP. Suy luận của mình như vậy có sai ở đâu không nhỉ... vẫn rất cần một lời góp ý!

Bản chất của Must + have + PP là dựa vào những việc xảy ra ở quá khứ để sử dụng cấu trúc này.

Em đồng ý, nhưng mà sử dụng cấu trúc này để suy đoán về việc có khả năng xảy ra ở quá khứ chứ không phải ở hiện tại. Nếu dùng must have PP thì ý của "tôi" là đang đoán bạn mệt trong lúc lái xe, chứ không phải là sau khi lái xe cả ngày (hiện tại). Bản chất của must + Vbare cũng tương tự thôi ạ, đó là đưa ra phỏng đoán ở hiện tại dựa theo căn cứ. Em nghĩ trong câu trên, thứ làm nên sự khác biệt giữa hai cấu trúc đó là "I’m sure that you are exhausted" ạ. Từ chỗ in đậm có thể suy ra được nhân vật tôi đang đưa ra suy đoán ở hiện tại hay quá khứ, qua đó lựa chọn được cấu trúc hợp lý ạ @@
Nếu em lập luận sai chỗ nào, mong anh chỉ ra ạ ^^
