trong câu permission, bạn có thể sử dụng các modal verb như :
POLITE REQUEST WITH "I":
1. may, could:(khá thông dụng)
ex: may i borrow your book?
could i borrow your book? --> in polite request, could has present or future meaning, not past meaning.
2. can: is used informally to request , especially the speaker is to someone he/she knows fairly well.
3. might: is also possible
ex: might i borrow your book?--> might i: quiet formal and polite, it is used much less frequently than "may i" or "could i"
POLITE REQUEST WITH "YOU"
1. would you, will you: the same
"would u" is common and is often consider more polite. however, the degree of politeness is often determined by the speaker's tone of voice.
2. could you: has the same meaning with "would you". the differrence is slight:
+would you= do you want to do this please?
+could you= do you want to do this please, and is it possible for you to do this?
3. can you: is often used informally. it usually sound less polite than "could you" or "would you".
