1. advantages & disadv of spending a year abroad before starting your job
Advantages:
-enjoying a good time before committing in responsibility
-meeting new people from different cultures
-learning new languages, if any.
-learn how to deal with new situations, a good way to practice fitting in at work.
-gain confidence from the experience
To sum up: spending a year abroad is a good way to prepare for your career.
Disadvatages:
- Cost $$$, not everyone can afford to.
- Not able to do job-hunting/ job interviews while away.
- Knowledge from school might have already outdated by the time you return, makes it harder to find suitable jobs.
- Compares to others classmate who works while you're away, you are still a fresh grad without any professional experience. This might be a disadvantage when applying for jobs.
--> you may loose out on job opportunities while away.
2. Why more & more people are turning to drugs? What can be done about the problem?
Reason:
-Modern society getting more and more stressful and materialistic.
-More parents not able to bring up children with good values due to busy lifestyle.
-With lots of money, no value, bad peers/friends youths easily turn to drugs to deal with personal problems rather than family.
-For adults, it is also a way to cope with stressful lifestyle/failure in life )ie. lose job, divorce, etc) abeite an ill-choiced way.
Suggestion:
-Education for:
1.parents to re-connect with children, gain their trust and teach them good values.
2. children that drug is addictive, harmful and not COOL.
3.other adults that drug is not an easy way out.
-make drug inaccessible: ban all kind of drug except for prescriptions. Capital punishment for smuggler/dealer.
-Set up organizations to help addicts recover, create job, accommodations for them to re-join society as productive members.
-If all failed, prescript drug for incurable addicts and lock them up.
3. What do you think should be done for the disabled?
-fund volunteer organization to care for disable/help find them suitable jobs (which does not include begging on the street)
-encourage people to help the disabled when possible, be it a full time jobs or just a day, or just a moment on the road.
-for the blind, train guidedog and give them out for free.
-for others with difficulty in movement, create disabled-friendly environment all public venue/ on the street ie: ramps, elevator
In shorts, helping the disabled does not limit in feeding them, it also includes create an environment that encourage the disabled to be productive and active.
4.money cant buy happiness but can help. Do you agree?
Yes. Money can open many doors of opportunity.
Example: you can not buy education, but you can buy a chance to go to school of the subject you love to pursue, where you can meet many passionate people who encourage you to learn and become a intellectual person with a purpose in life.
Some might argue money will buy you troubles: being robbed, bad friends who want to take advantage of you, turn to into an irresponsible person who thinks money can solve anything. However, by choice, you can put your money where they are safe from robber, you can choose your friends who you want to surround with, you can make choices that are smart not irresponsible.
5.The main purpose of full time education must be to train young people to do a useful job when they leave the school. Do you agree?
