I have a memorable experience which happened when I was a grade 9 student. It was Technology lesson, my teacher asked us to install an electrical panel. I had thought that it was simple to do it but I was wrong.
In class, my teacher guided us how to install the one scientifically and securely. She showed us an electrical schematic. It contained a fuse, a switch, a socket and an incandescent light. She explained us step by step meticulously and reminded us always to be careful in electricity. She gave us a week to practice at home.
After school, I spend my free time in the evening on my product. My friends used to have their fathers help them but I didn’t. I wanted to do it myself. Moreover, my father is usually absent from home. Independently, I looked for the old one to get as a model and tried to install similarly. I worked with electric leads, screws… I used pliers, screwdriver... I installed necessary equipments after connecting electric leads into electrical panel. When my product was completed, I was so excited in testing it. My mother advised me to have my father check it before. But, you know that I wanted to work independently and at that time I was so excited that I didn’t do follow my mother’s advice. Sneakily, I plugged the plug of the new electrical panel into a socket to connect the power. I expected the light to brighten up a lot but it was bad. After connecting, immediately the incandescent light bursted. My mother saw that and shouted loudly. I was so terrified. My mother ordered me to unplug quickly but it was late to do something. Unfortunately, the fuse was bursted and the electricity was cut. I’ve remembered that it was about 1a.m. Can you imagine what I must do to sorry my mother then?
