The diagram A and B demonstrate the model of Sorrel Cottage with the surrounding land as well as the major changes of expanding the garden zone and many other areas built up after two decades since 1980.
The rectangular-shaped garden ’s acreage is enlarged as three times as its original size because of the purchase of two plots of land. The first one was bought in 1983 which situates adjacently to the southern border and is approximately equalled in size of the original garden. Two years later, covering the eastern border is another plot purchased which was significantly doubled in area.
Between 1986 and 1988, the Sorrel Cottage was expanded by a house constructed next to the southern edge. Located on the northern part of the eastern acquisition plot, an orchard was created by planting fruit trees in 1989. A pond was dug in the garden one year later, and at the same time a vegetable garden also appeared on the opposite side from the orchard in the east plot. In 1996, three rows of tree were erected, one lied in front of the orchard ,one surrounded directly in the back of the vegetable garden and the last tree line was grown right on the southern side of an open-air swimming pool which was built between 2000-2001 and also the latest change of Sorrel Cottage.
In nearly twenty two years, the Sorrel Cottage and Garden themselves received a great innovation. The area turned out to be larger as three times as its previous version because of two new purchased land. Furthermore, all the new things seem to make this place more beautiful,from a spacious place to a gorgeous heaven.
