Cúc phương, the first national park in Việt Nam, was oficially opened in 1960. It í located 160 km south west ò Ha noi spanning Ninh Binh, Hoa binh and Thanh hoa provinces. The 200 square lilometre park attracts tourists and scientist alike. In 2002, nearly 100,000 víitors made their way to Cuc phuong. Many come to sê the work being done to protect endangerred species.
