It is estimated that there are about 200 million people using the Internet around the world. Most people use the Internet to get information or for entertainment. In fact, a new study says that almost 6% of the Internet users, especially students, are using it so often that it is seriously harming their lives. However, these people may find it difficult to stop using the Internet because they have become addicted to it. The study also shows that the students who are addicted to the Internet spend most of their time playing online games, chatting with their friends or doing things that are not related to their learning. Needless to say, their school results will certainly be affected. As a result, the psychologists working on the study say that parents should control their children’s time, especially the time they spend surfing the Net to minimize its harmful effects on their children.
