Otherwise = if it doesn’t happen/didn’t happen/hadn’t happened
Ví dụ:
My sister and I must be back before 10 o’clock; otherwise my dad will be angry.
= If we are not back before 10 o’clock, my dad will be angry.
Nếu chị em tôi không về trước 10 giờ, bố tôi sẽ giận.
Her boyfriend pays her tuition fee; otherwise she wouldn’t be able to go to university.
= If her boyfriend didn’t pay her tuition fee, she wouldn’t be able to go to university.
