2."I will go shopping next weekend", Lan said.
=>Lan said (that) she would go shopping the weekend after.
3. "Are you a student?", Lan asked me.
=>Lan asked me if I was a student.
4."What is your job?", they asked Lan.
=> They asked Lan what her job was.
