6. If I had known she was sick, I would have visited her.
=> Had I known she was sick, I would have visted her.
EXERCISE II: Make all the changes and additions necessary to produce meaningful sentences. Note carefully from the example what kind of alterations need to be made.
1. They/waiting/important visitor.
=> They are waiting for the important visitor.
2. She/ going/ open/ new secondary school.
=> She is going to open a new secondary school.
3. We/wait/until/ see/ train.
=> We waited until seeing the train.
4. When/train stop/ band/ start/ playing
=> When the train stops, the band starts playing.
5. As soon as/ she arrive/ at school/ children/ begin cheering
=> As soon as she arrives at school, the children will begin cheering.
6. Before she leave/ you give her/ present.
=> Before she left, you gave her a pesent.
7. After you make/ speech we/ have lunch.
=> After you make the speech we have lunch.
8. Mr. Wallace/ in/ maternity ward.
=> Mr. Wallance is in a maternity ward.
9. Have you/ think/ any names/ the baby?
=> Have you thought any names for the baby?
10. If it/ a girl/ we/ call/ Victoria.
=> If it is a girl, we will call her Victoria.
