-The scientists who discovered a new planet has won the Nobel prize
The old castle was really interesting, we visited it.
-The old castle which we visited was really interesting.
2. Non – Defining Clauses
Jack is very handsome. He lives next door to my house
-Jack, who lives next door to my house, is very handsome.
The Titanic is known as the red planet. It is over 200 miles long
-The Titanic, which is over 200 miles long, is known as the red planet
B. Relative adverbs:
WHERE : in which, in the place, at the place
WHEN: on the day, at this time
WHY: for the reason
Why is she absent today?
- I don’t know the reason why she is absent today
Where was she born?
- She couldn’t remember the place where she was born.
