companionship:
-someone to come home to
-someone to talk to
-substitution for children/friends

protection/help:
- guide dogs are used to help blind people
- bigger dogs can help guarding house
- sheep dogs help farmers
- Huskies (breed of dog) are used in the North to pull sleighs
- Saint Bernards (breed of dog) are used to rescue people in the snow

entertaining
-singing/talking birds
-dogs doing tricks

education
-parents often keep pets to teach children about responsibility/how to take care of others

2:Advantages of public transport?
- cheap
- able to do other things when riding: reading, listening to music instead of focusing on driving
-able to transport many people at the same time
-> reduce traffic jam -> reduce carbon emission ->environmentally friendly.

3: Disadvantages of public transport ?
- can be inconvenient to access if you don't live near the bus route/stops
- takes longer to reach destination
- dependent on the bus/train/ferry's schedule
- generally not disable-friendly
- not safe sometimes ( pickpocket, molesters, etc..)
