Some people think that student should be allowed to study without worrying about grades and that.(1).....emphasis should be placed on grades.
Let's face the facts about grades. Grades.(2)....three basic functions. First, grades motivate students to work at their hightest.(3)......of competence. Second, they act as a(4).....for hardworking students and as a reprimand to students who do not work(5).... Finally, grades are used as an effective standard(6).....which to measure student achievement. Good grades help students to get jobs(7).....to get into university. I've(8)....with a number of students who have jobs, and most of them say that they were(9)....primarily on the basis of their grades. My grades helped me land a part-time job and(10)....help me get into university next year. I think grades are extremely important at High school.

Tornadoes are among the most dangeruos(1).... disasters. Every year in the United States, tornadoes cause billions of dollars in damage to homes, businesses, parks, and personal property. In some(2)....., dangeruos winds and flying objects even injure or(3)......people. Many tornadoes have winds that travel at speechs faster than racecars! Tornadoes occur when violent storm cluods tilt towards the ground. The clouds(4)... a swirling funnel that destroys everything in its path. Lightning, heavy rain, and hail often(5).....with tornadoes.
Tornadoes usually occur in the central portion of the United States known as "Tornado Alley". Texas and Oklahoma normally have the hightest number of tornadoes, but tornadoes have been reported in every state. Tornadoes are more(6)......than some storms because they are(7)......to predict. If you think a tornadoes is near, take cover away from windows.If you don't have a basement or storm cellar, the bathtub may be the safest place to(8)...
