Câu 2 :

- Ở đây sai là sai ở chỗ "because". Ta phải đổi "because" thành "due to" vì sau "due to" là 1 cụm từ (phrase). cụm "the record number of more than 1300 athletes and officials who attended the 2006 Games" không được xem là 1 câu hoàn chỉnh vì ko có chủ ngữ và động từ chính. Các bạn đừng lầm tưởng attend là động từ chính, bởi vì từ "who" đã tách nó ra và cụm từ sau "who" chỉ đóng vai trò giải thích cho cụm " more than 1300 athletes and officials".
- Chúng ta không thể đổi "who attended" thành "attended" được vì ở đây ta bị ràng buộc bởi cụm "the record number of" => chỉ con số kỉ lục. Mà "con số kỉ lục" thì ko thể nào "attended"(tham dự) được, chỉ có người mới tham dự dc thôi, nên ta phải dùng "who" để bổ nghĩa cho cụm "more than 1300 ..."

Cách giải thích và sửa của bạn đúng rồi:
"because" => "due to" hoặc các từ tương đương như "owning to" và "because of".
